A decision on the future of a troubled New Deal for Communities (NDC) partnership in Nottingham is “imminent”, Regeneration & Renewal has learned.
A source close to development trust the Neighbourhood Development Company, which manages the Radford and Hyson Green NDC partnership, said the decision will be based on the recommendations of a governance review of the body carried out earlier this year by a government-appointed neighbourhood renewal adviser.
The source said that board members were meeting this week with officials from Nottingham City Council and the Government Office for the East Midlands – which oversaw the review – to decide on options for the body’s future. These could include transferring delivery of the NDC programme to another body or a shake up of the board, the source added.
The review took place following the suspension of chief executive Sam Tarff and the resignation of a board member in protest at Tarff’s exit (R&R, 22 February, p2).
